Artist BioEli Weingarten, a Non-Binary Jewish artist based out of New York City, is known for their landscape paintings and cultural art. Growing up in a household filled with art and music, they found an interest in painting and drawing at a young age. After working as an art counselor at a summer camp, they transferred their undergraduate major to education. With a Bachelor of Science in Visual Arts Education, Weingarten teaches Visual Art and Graphic Design to high school students in the South Bronx. With their new series exploring who they are, Weingarten has begun branching out into multimedia to explore the theme of identity and the journey a person goes through while growing up. They are creating art that reflects the people, places, and traditions that influenced them as a child. They are currently attending Teachers College Columbia University for a Masters in Studio Art Practices.
